Bengali Speaking Psychologist for Medico Legal Report in London, W1G and Online.
Looking for a Bengali speaking Psychologist who can undertake a specialist Medico-legal report for you or your client can be difficult, but here at The Mind Remedy our psychological experts can help.
Dr. Sharmin Aktar is a HCPC Registered Psychologist who can offer Medico Legal assessment and a thorough and detailed report for medico-legal cases. She speaks Bengali, Sylheti dialect and can conduct the assessment with clients who do not speak english or speak little english.
Before the Assessment:
If this is a service you require, then please get in touch with us with a written summary of the case, including the key information. Prior to the assessment, written instructions will need to be sent over including the medical notes to review. Please note, this must be received prior to the assessment for Dr Sharmin Aktar to have sufficient time to read it. Once all the information has been reviewed a quote of the case will be sent.
If the deadline for the report is less than two weeks of the assessment taking place, there may be an extra fee for this fast turn-around. Dr. Sharmin will try her best to accommodate the needs of her clients.
We will also agree on a day, time and location of assessment. Face to face assessments will take place at the clinic (W1G) and online assessments will be via video call (Google Meet).
Fee:
The fee for a medico legal report starts at £1200. A more accurate quote will be given once all the information (including instructions and medical notes) are received. The fee is dependent on the complexity of the case, the number of medical notes to review and the deadline for the report. The full fee will need to be received prior to the assessment.
Assessment:
An assessment for a Medico Legal Report lasts approximately 2 hours long and consists of a clinical interview and psychometrics. Psychometrics are questionnaires that will need to be translated for the client in Bengali. If the interview is being conducted in Bengali, please note that it may take up to three hours. The assessment can take place face to face in a safe and confidential environment (The Mind Remedy clinic) or via a video call. If the assessment is via video call, please also ensure that the internet connection is stable with good audio and video. It is important that the client attends on time to ensure there is sufficient time to conduct the assessment. You will be asked to show an ID to confirm your identity at the start of the assessment so please have this ready.
Write up of the Report:
Once the assessment has been completed, Dr. Sharmin Aktar will begin to prepare the report. She will begin to prepare the report based on the clinical interview, psychometrics and documents provided prior to the assessment. An objective stance will be taken for the purpose of the report. In the report, Dr. Sharmin will outline the client’s history related to medical and mental history, family history, social history and academic history. The outcome of the psychometric measures will be included. She will also give her professional opinion on the diagnosis, causation, risk and prognosis. The report will also contain relevant literature related to the case.
Finalised Report:
Once the report is complete, Dr. Sharmin’s admin team will send the report to your solicitor. If there are any additional areas, you would like for Dr. Sharmin to comment on then there will be an extra fee for this. Please note that the outcome of the assessment, professional opinion or recommendations cannot be changed.
